So... I realize that the Dior ad vid window had to share some space with the text on the right side/column of this page and I wasn't really digging that... hence this post to nudge things down a scosh.

Today...
There are many things going on:
Kentucky Derby
Cinco de Mayo
Artist talks, plural
Art Openings, plural
The Halley's Comet remnants meteor showers, aka Eta Aquarid meteor shower

The Super Moon
and....
add your own

someone just said, "is the world ending?"
No, it's just getting started.

I just spent a good half hour writing a new post and then got some server error message so it vanished on reloading. natch.

well the gist is, I was really busy in April, and now? not. But I am. I have two deadlines coming up, so far. One is for a grant and the other is an artist-in-residence program.

Sunday, the day after the Artpsace Gala, two days after the Artism class at Southern Connecticut State University, three days after shipping off the first printed and framed solargraph from the Parallax series (to an art gallery on Long Island for a show juried by alt-pro pro Christopher James)  and a week after the Pinhole Photography workshop at Creative Arts Workshop, I started a new series of cyanotypes using some cool building salvage bits and pieces I picked up from Urban Miners in Hamden CT. How's THAT for a run-on sentence?

If you're an artist in the New Haven area and like to work with found objects, you have to visit Urban Miners and spend at least a half hour digging thru the stacks, piles, and boxes there.http://www.urbanminers.com/

New Web Site, New Studio

It's been a couple of days of extra work I didn't plan on neededing to do, but.... After two years, my old web address, burkecolin.com, was up for renewal, only I didn't know it.

A few days ago I heard form two different people that some email to @burkecolin.com was bouncing back to them. Curious, I went ahead and contacted the good folks at Go Daddy and sure enough, burkecolin had ended its first two years as a domain name. So, I renewed it, updated my contact information with them so I would be getting email notifications at a yahoo address I still check, and a new form of payment that won't expire for a few years.

All set, right?

Wrong.

I didn't realize the web domain  name Go Daddy renewed was not burkecolin.com, but a different one I had ordered/owned and never used.

So, late last night I learned burkecolin.com had expired and someone else already snapped it up. It now sits out there as a generic wordpress page and my version of burkecolin.com is no more.

Or was it?

I did a quick whois and saw that colinburkestudio.com was available so I switched  over to that web address/domain and that s what you see here.

Sure, it would have been a good idea to put the renewal date on my calendar, but two years seemed like a long time. I had no idea I would be in the midst of a lot of other things at the beginning of 2012 and forget all about it.

Well, lesson learned. But the good thing is now my web site name matches my facebook artist page name. facebook.com/colinburkestudio

All I have to do now is update some things, make sure the emails situation gets streamlined, and everything is fine. Well, that and work on getting colinburkestudio.com back up at the number one spot on google searches when you search for "colin burke." I did it before for the old web site, so, it is possible.

Until 2014, when I hope to remember to decide to renew this web site before it winds up on the auction block.

I'm also going to go back and see if I can get the other pages from my previous anablog set up in some sort of archive.

new email for the studio is now:
